We are excited to announce that we have refreshed our Southeast Polk Community School District academic logo!
This new logo beautifully symbolizes the duality of our identity.
The rising sun represents the dawn of new opportunities and the promise of a bright future for our students, while the bold lines of the 5 sections represent the 5 communities that make up our district. They also form a symbolic shape of our district mascot, the Ram horn, embodying the SEP strength, determination and school spirit. This logo is unique; there is no other organization (that we know of!) that has a logo that looks similar. When people see it, they will know it’s us, and we are Southeast Polk!
You’ll still see our previous academic logos throughout our buildings, which is fine—it’s part of our history!
Also, we are just updating our academic logo. We are not replacing the “Ram Head” Activities logo and will continue to use the “Ram Head” logo for all activities and athletics.
The previous academic logo was created about 18 years ago and was ready for an update. Earlier in 2024, we hired an outside company to design several options for the new academic logo. A committee of SEP leadership, staff, and parents were given several logo design options. After going through two rounds of voting, this design was chosen as the winner! Another really cool aspect, that even the committee didn’t know until after they voted, is that the artist who created the original draft of this refreshed version of the logo is a Southeast Polk grad!
You may see other versions of the new academic logo, including the individualized logo for each building, the black version, the white version, and the stacked version. These are the only approved logos and we are trademarking them to ensure they stay our own!
We are excited about the release of our fresh logo redesign. It’s more than just a logo—it reflects who we are and where we’re headed. The future looks bright at Southeast Polk!
