SEP Junior High Scheduling Information for the 2024-2025 School Year

Southeast Polk Junior High will be using this article to share information regarding the scheduling process over the course of the spring semester and summer.  If any questions come up and you need further information regarding the transition process from 7th to 8th grade or 8th to 9th grade, feel free to contact the SEP junior High Main Office at 515-967-5509.

7th to 8th Grade Transition for the 2024-2025 School Year

• Parent Meeting on February 5th at 6:00 p.m. in the SEP Junior High Auditorium.

Student Information for Scheduling

• 7th to 8th Grade Initial Letter for Scheduling 2024-2025- Linked here.

Summer Information- 

• Schedules Open July 15th- We had originally planned for July 8th but there are some things that will need to be cleaned up once the academic calendar rolls on July 1st.
• Junior High Open House August 5th and 7th- We will have an Open House on August 5th and 7th (11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) where students and families can come into the building and take school pictures, explore their schedule and complete any items they need to with the front office.  The Jostens Picture Information can be found here.  We will have opportunities to take pictures on August 5th, 7th and 30th (retakes on October 4th). Information can be found on the Jostens link. Teachers will not be present for this event but counselors, student support and administration will be available.
• Junior High Meet and Greet– On August 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. we will open the building for students and parents to walk their schedules and meet their teachers.  This will give students and families to meet the staff prior to the start of the 2024-2025 school year!

• Physical Education Opt Out Information- Linked here is the 9th Grade physical education Opt Out form for those 9th grade students who qualify to opt out of physical education.  There are three situations that allow students to opt out of PE (these are outlined in the last question of the form). This form must be filled out for staff to consider the opportunity for a student to opt out of PE.
