Recently, several of our students took center court to hold our first-ever SEP Unified Basketball Game during the halftime of our SEP Boys’ Varsity Basketball Game. It was an unbelievable experience for all involved!
The Unified Athletes
The game drew the attention and support of the Southeast Polk school community. SEP High School students, Aylah Fix and Blyke Stubbs helped the Unified Athletes train, while Kaeli Humphrey helped Coach Tia Stiles organize the event and coach during the game. The referees for the game were SEP High School Principal Mr. Pettit and SEP Director of Special Education Mrs. Lea Morris.
“We love how everyone supports all of our students, it makes our hearts smile.”
The event was such a success, another game has been scheduled. Mark your calendars now for the next showdown, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 6 during halftime of the girls game at Ankeny Centennial.
Events like this are a true testament to the character of our students, school and community. #1SEP #BuildingGreatnessForOver60Years!
