Tuesday, August 8, 2023, was a special milestone for the new SEP Middle School (6th/7th grade building) – The Steel Topping Ceremony!
Southeast Polk Leadership and School Board members were on hand for this construction tradition. Everyone, including the construction crew, put their signature on the final beam left to be placed at the top of the structure, leaving their permanent mark on the project. The beam was then ceremoniously lifted and proudly placed on the top of the future school building.

After the Steel Topping Ceremony, many went on a tour of the building.
