Congratulations Mr. Mohning! While you will be missed by everyone in the Southeast Polk School District, you certainly deserve your retirement. Your hard work and dedication have greatly benefited our community.
Randy joined the SEP Family in 2009 as the Four Mile Principal and spent the last 12 years as the leader there. He brought with him several years of experience as a teacher, coach and principal. Randy, who’s known for being kind and calm, has a special ability to make connections with people and make them feel important. He achieved this by being out in the classrooms and hallways building relationships with the Four Mile students and staff.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is a critical part of the Southeast Polk curriculum. Under Randy’s leadership, Four Mile Elementary was named as a Distinguished School for STEM and Career Learning. Read more about it here: Four Mile Elementary, Jr. High and High School receive national recognition commitment empowering students.
Also, one of the Four Mile teachers was named a finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Math. That story is here: Southeast Polk teacher Janet Riordan named finalist for presidential award for excellence in teaching math/
Congratulations Randy on your amazing career and upcoming retirement! We will miss you!
