The fall parent-teacher conferences for both junior high and high school students are scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, from 12:30-7:30 pm and on the following Monday, October 19, from 4:00-8:00 pm. We will not conduct our traditional drop-in style conferences where parents/guardians come to school and wait in lines to meet with teachers. This fall all parent-teacher conferences will be virtual (Zoom or by phone) and will be scheduled. The junior high and high school are coordinating this joint virtual event utilizing a website called Schoolbookings. Parents will receive additional information on Wednesday, October 7, including a talk-over screencast video demonstrating the account creation process and how to book individual conferences with teachers.
Conferences will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. It may not be possible to meet with all teachers, especially if a parent/guardian has multiple children. We are setting up the conference sessions for every 10 minutes, but we are limiting each conference to eight minutes. This will allow our staff to have a few minutes to close down a session and then access the information for the next child prior to the beginning of the next meeting.
After a parent/guardian books his/her conference sessions, a confirmation email will be sent, which includes a detailed list of the parent/guardian’s schedule for conferences. All links to the individual teacher Zoom meetings will be included within this confirmation email. In order to stay on schedule, we request that all parents/guardians join their Zoom session two minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Parents will be placed in the virtual waiting room until their teacher invites them into the meeting. If a parent requested a phone conference instead of a Zoom virtual conference, then the parent should be by the phone a few minutes prior to the scheduled start time as well.
Our teachers look forward to conducting conferences with parents in a few weeks. As always, please reach out to your children’s teachers at any time with questions or concerns about their progress in class. Counselors and administrators are also available to assist you.
Take care,
