The stage is set. The seniors have rehearsed. We’re ready for the 2020 Graduation Ceremony!
Based on the suggestions from the state, Polk County, and the CDC, we have set up several protocols to allow us to hold this special in-person celebration for our 2020 Seniors.
There will be 2 ceremonies on July 18, Saturday at the Southeast Polk Stadium:
Ceremony 1 at 9:00 am for seniors Abbas – Larmie
Ceremony 2 at 12:30 pm for seniors Larsen – Zeutenhorst
*Gates will open one hour prior to the start of each ceremony. Graduates are required to be in their seats 15 minutes prior to the start of each ceremony. All guests and graduates are required to stay in their assigned seats once they arrive. Face coverings and instructions have been provided to the graduates and staff members participating in the graduation ceremony.
Students will be allowed to invite up to 4 guests to attend their live graduation ceremony at the stadium. The tickets were given to the graduates at the rehearsals on July 16. The tickets must be presented to gain admittance to the ceremony.
We will not have a traditional processional for students. Students will report directly to their assigned seats on the field.
Each student’s guests will be assigned seats in the bleachers, and this information will be shared via email on July 17. Guest seating areas will have the graduate’s name taped to the bleacher seat. You may want to bring something to dry your seating area because of morning dew.
We ask everyone else to join us via the Live Stream links provided below. The Live Stream will be available 1 hour prior to the start of each ceremony and will include a senior spotlight slideshow until the start of the ceremony.

Students will be dismissed from the field beginning with the northernmost row. Each students’ guests are to exit their assigned seat in the bleachers as their graduate stands to exit the row of chairs on the field. Guests and students are to proceed directly to their vehicles in the parking lots after exiting the stadium together.
Guests who are assigned to sit in the east bleachers shall park their vehicles in the parking lot on the east side of the junior high (by the greenhouse). These guests shall enter the stadium area and proceed to the east bleachers.
We ask that families/friends do not congregate in the parking lot before or after the ceremonies. Please take pictures at other locations than on school property.
Life Touch will be providing professional pictures of the ceremony for families to purchase if they desire. Once graduation is completed, you will receive an email with a link to order pictures.
We encourage everyone to practice standard health guidance as provided by the state including encouragement of face coverings, social distancing, and staying home if not feeling well. Although this will be far different than our normal ceremony, we are so pleased that we are able to hold this event. We greatly appreciate your patience as we have all worked through some vastly different situations these past few months.
