Mark your calendars for the East Polk County event of the year! Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars and the Southeast Polk Education Foundation are excited to announce our partnership to bring you the Black and Gold Gala presented by Prairie Meadows on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
Robin Norris, Dollars for Scholars Board Member and co-chair, shared, “This is a great opportunity to combine our traditional, annual Dollars for Scholars dinner auction with the SEP Education Foundation’s formal event. Proceeds from the evening will be split evenly between both of these organizations that support the students in our community.”
Gala guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with hors-d’oeuvres during the silent auction bidding, transitioning over to the live auction and dinner. After the live auction, guests are invited to continue the festivities at the after-party in the adjacent ballroom.
“Prairie Meadows is proud to be the premier sponsor of the 2019 Black and Gold Gala. We are happy to see these two important organizations work together for one epic event at Prairie Meadows this fall,” stated Julie Stewart, Director of Community Relations at Prairie Meadows.
Funds raised from this event will support the Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars program that helps assist and support students as they move on to the next level of their education, whether it’s at a four-year university, community college, or trade/technical program. Additionally, proceeds will also be funneled to the Southeast Polk Education Foundation, which provides grants for curricular enrichment, programs, student scholarships and projects that fall outside the normal funding stream of the district.
Maggie Crabb, Education Foundation Board member and co-chair, shared, “This is going to be a special night for our community. Education is everyone’s concern – our broader community’s quality of life and economic success are directly tied to the quality of its public schools. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a fun night out while giving back to the school district and the children we serve.”
