Monday, February 19, 2018, was an exciting afternoon at Clay Elementary. Special Education Teacher Stacey Cochran received The Golden Apple Award at an all-school assembly. This is a very special recognition given to one special teacher each month during the school year. WHO-TV 13 and IMT Insurance partner on this award and surprise one special teacher at their school each month.
Stacey’s daughters, family, friends, and even former students surprised her at the assembly this afternoon. She was nominated for this award by her current and former students. Cochran shared, “I have a lot of support in my classroom and among all the teachers. We have a collaborative effort here at Southeast Polk, all of us deserve this award.”
Clay Elementary Principal, Lea Morris shared, “We are extremely proud of Stacey and are so happy to have her as a part of our team here at Clay Elementary. She is an asset to our building and all of the students she serves.”
