Clay Elementary families and staff celebrated the school’s 10th anniversary on Friday, September 15. Thanks to PTA fundraising efforts, students started the school year with a new playground which was dedicated during the celebration. Lea Morris, principal, Jeannie Conkling, City of Altoona Mayor, PTA members and students helped cut the ribbon for the playground. The red ribbon was decorated by student’s thumb prints. The event treated families to the Des Moines Children Museum and a sweet treat from the ice cream truck.
