At Southeast Polk schools, all students engage in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to identify challenges and design solutions.
We provide opportunities for students to collaborate, communicate, create, and think critically to solve real-world problems. Students participate in hands-on learning opportunities to build the skills they need to be the next generation of innovators.
STEM education starts at the very beginning of a the student’s Southeast Polk experience. All children from Kindergarten through Grade 8 are taught STEM concepts and participate in STEM activities that have been certified by the Iowa STEM Advisory Council.
The emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math continues at Southeast Polk High School where students expand on their early knowledge and skills in a variety of elective courses that can prepare them for higher education and careers in science, technology, agriculture and engineering.
