Late last night/early this morning, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed HF 847 into law. The provision of this law prohibiting K-12 schools – both public and accredited nonpublic – from mandating masks is effective immediately upon enactment.
In compliance with the new law, beginning today, May 20th, masks are not required at Southeast Polk schools but are rather a family choice. Masks are still recommended for those who have not been vaccinated and will still be available for those who need them.
