UPDATE:
The district received the all-clear from the Altoona Police Department at 3:35 p.m. regarding the neighborhood incident that we communicated with all families previously. Students are boarding buses and are being transported home. Clay Elementary is no longer in lockdown.
Clarification on a recent message that was sent to some students on the Here Comes the Bus message. The entire Southeast Polk District is not on lockdown, only Clay Elementary. All students and staff are safe. In response to a non-school related, neighborhood incident the Altoona Police have asked us to lockdown Clay Elementary and to hold Spring Creek, Jr. High and High School students riding the following buses:

Students riding these buses will be safe inside their respective buildings, and will be released when we receive the all-clear from the Altoona Police Department.
This will also delay elementary buses.
