Blood Drive

Our National Honors Society is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, October 3rd (odd day) from 8:00am-2:00pm.  We are looking for students to volunteer to donate blood.  Please read the following before signing up to make sure you’re eligible.

  • Donors must be 16 or older and weigh at least 120 lbs. to donate.
  • Those under 18 who have never donated through LifeServe must bring a signed minor-consent-form.  (Paper copies are available in the counseling office.  You are welcome to turn it into Mrs. Powell before the drive or bring it to the drive yourself).
  • While the time of actually donating blood is short (5-10min), the entire process from check-in to check-out may take 30-60 min.
  • Females can only donate every 180 days (approximately 6 months – if you donated at our drive in April, you won’t be eligible to donate at this drive, sorry!)
  • Males can donate every 56 days (approximately 2 months)
  • If you are participating in an athletic event that afternoon/evening you probably shouldn’t donate blood – check with your coach.
  • Those interested in receiving a red cord to wear at graduation must attempt to donate at least 3 times.  (Lifeserve tracks the number of times and notifies the NHS sponsor in May of each year who is receiving the red cord.  If you have a question on the number of times you’ve attempted/donated, you will need to contact LifeServe.)

Click here to access the sign-up website.

You will receive a pamphlet the Tuesday or Wednesday before the donation reminding you of your donation time. This pamphlet will be your pass out of class on the day of the blood drive.
