College and Career: 

DMACC Application Event: Tuesday, September 17th from 8:00 am – 1:15 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room for seniors who plan to attend DMACC after graduation. Students who plan on attending please fill out the Student Sign-up Form >>

High School Homecoming Week: 

Theme: Glow in the Dark!

Week Events:

  • Monday, Sept 23rd Powder Puff Game @ 6:30 pm – High School Stadium
  • Tuesday, Sept 24th Best Buddies Kickball @ 5:30 pm – High School Softball Fields
  • Wednesday, Sept 25th RAM Games @ 6:30 pm – High School Stadium
  • Thursday, Sept 26th Homecoming Parade @ 5:30 pm – Altoona (map coming soon)
  • Friday, Sept 27th Homecoming Football Game against Sioux City East @ 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
  • Saturday, Sept 28th Homecoming Dance @ 8:00 pm. Students must have their school ID to enter the dance.

Guidance Office: 

Silver Cord:

Summer Silver Cord hours are due by Monday, Sept 16th. This includes hours completed between May 27th – August 22nd, 2024. Students can drop them off in our Guidance Office. Click here to learn more about Silver Cord.

Physical Education Opt Out:

Parents or guardians may complete this Physical Education Opt Out Form to request their student be excused from P.E. class. This form must be completed each semester the opt out is desired. Physical education grades for students who have opted out of P.E. will be listed as excused on the report card and transcript.

Attendance Reminders:

If your student is going to be absent from school, the attendance office must be notified by using the Absent Request Portal located in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This is the preferred method for reporting a student’s absence.

How to access the Parent Infinite Campus Absent Request Portal (Instructions)

  • Log into Infinite Campus > Select More > Absence Request. It’s also located on your Infinite Campus home screen under Quick Links. 
  • The Infinite Campus portal is accessible from a computer or through the mobile app.
  • View our Attendance Protocol document which states our attendance expectations for absences.

Student Drivers Permits:

After the student has completed Driver Education, begin in the High School front office where we have the DOT forms.  Email or bring the student’s current permit to the office & we will start the form for you along with a letter.  Do this before going to the DOT.

Offered by Street Smarts.  Register at www.StreetSmartsDriversEd.com, email ssdedm@gmail.com or call 279-1112.  OR, contact any other driver education company in the Des Moines area.
