Employee Family Resources & Teenage Vaping: 

On Monday, December 2nd at 6:00 PM in the Southeast Polk Jr High Auditorium we are offering an opportunity for parents to learn more about the dangers of teenage vaping. Our partner organization, Employee Family Resources, is offering a session for parents to learn more about the signs that your child may be experimenting with vaping.  Click here for additional information. Caring Hands:

The Interact Club is hosting a Food Drive to donate to Caring Hands Food Pantry. The event is going on NOW thru Dec. 20th. Donations can be dropped off in the High School front office.

Sports News:

  • Congratulations to the 2024 Southeast Polk State Champion, Mike Slade, on his induction into the Southeast Polk Hall of Champions. He was honored this weekend at Campbell University.
  • Good Luck to the JV and Varsity boys and girls bowling team as they compete against Davis County at Great Escape Monday, December 2nd. Meet starts at 3:15.
  • It’s the Boys basketball home opener Monday, December 2nd against Des Moines North. 9th & 10th start at 4:45 and varsity at 6:15 PM.

2023-2024 Yearbook:

The 2023-2024 yearbooks ARE HERE!  10-12th graders this year may pick them up in the Library on EVEN days during their lunch hour. Seniors last year can pick them up in the front office.

2024-2025 Yearbook:

Building Entry Reminders:

Students: A friendly reminder when arriving to school after the doors are locked. Please use the correct entry doors to scan into the building. If you are late or coming back from an appointment use the LATE scanner so your attendance is accurately recorded. The Study Hall Release scanner is ONLY used for students coming in from release and Harbor students.

Visitors: When visiting the High School during school hours, please park on the east side of the building in visitor parking. For security purposes, enter the building through the east main entry doors so we can get you a visitors badge. Note: You will need your drivers license to get a visitors badge.

Student Drivers Permits

After the student has completed Driver Education, begin in the High School front office where we have the DOT forms.  Email or bring the student’s current permit to the office & we will start the form for you along with a letter.  Do this before going to the DOT.


Driver Education

Driver education classes held at SE Polk High School in November and December. Students, guardians or parents may register online at www.StreetSmartsDriversEd.com or they may call our office to register over the phone at 515-279-1112.


Parent Teacher Conferences

Spring Conferences:

Monday, March 10th, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm.
Normal ODD day bell schedule for students.

Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 12:30-7:30 pm (Note: No Late Start, 1st period starts at 7:35 am).
EVEN Bell Schedule for students – NO LATE START

MTSS: 7:35 – 8:05am
2nd period: 8:15 – 8:55 am
4th period: 9:00 – 9:40 am
6th period: 9:45 – 10:25 am
8th period: 10:30 – 11:10 am (approximate arrival time for buses).

All parents/guardians will need to create a new account through schoolbookings.net to schedule conferences with teachers. Once the new account is created, parents/guardians can access this link to schedule their conferences. The event code for fall parent-teacher conferences is coming soon!
